Say What?!? Suge Knight Likes To Be Called A N*GGA, Not African American & TMZ “Poll”

by Tuesday, December 17, 2013

Say it ain’t so, say it ain’t so, somebody please say it ain’t so. Former CEO of Death Row Records, Suge Knight was recently asked does he mind people using the N-word. Knight’s response was the following:

I like n*gga better than African American. I’m not from Africa. I’m Black.

Congratulations Suge Knight on receiving all of the blank stares, face palms, and wall slides known to man. Seriously, did you skip history class? This is wrong on SO many levels. What makes it worse, is TMZ actually ran a poll on what to refer to Black people as. The two options: African American or N*gga. O_o

What do you think about Suge’s preference? Also, what are your thoughts on TMZ’s “poll”? Sound off below!

I just can’t even watch this video. That statement is so incredibly ignorant and sad at the same time. Our ancestors were hung from trees and that was probably the last word many of them heard, how can we justify calling ourselves that heinous word? We are the only race that treats each other with such little respect that we think that is actually a good thing. Jews don’t call each other Kikes, Mexicans don’t call each other wetbacks, and I have never heard a Chinese person calling themselves chinks. Why we think nigga is appropriate is beyond explanation.

Smh…I couldn’t even watch the video in its entirety. It’s ignorance at its best. And the fact that TMZ has the nerve to think it’s ok to take a poll on the subject is even more ridiculous.

Well since they are in the business of scandal and controversy I’m really not surprised. They knew exactly how people would react.

Don’t want to be called that but I do not like the term African American. I see myself as black, have grown up with that term and prefer it. He’s got issues. As far as TMZ, let the backlash begin.

I absolutely do not agree with the N-word part, but as far as everything else goes, I understand what he is TRYING to say. When you break it down, technically, if you’re taking the words literally…we aren’t African american. Just like Mexican- Americans, Japanese-american…usually indicate someone who is of another nationality that is now living in america. Our nationality is American.

However, it’s not just that simple, and he is very ignorant and not thinking critically. He’s in the business of being a sensationalist just to have his 5 minutes of fame.

I’m Dominican and black and have grown up in both cultures.
I don’t appreciate any terms…just call us American…aren’t we all from here.
Whites aren’t called European-Americans, they are simply referred to as Americans – regardless of where they came from.

That’s the part that kills me…why the need to hyphen??

Suge Knight is a waste of space and always has been. Let him continue to be called what he wants because honestly with all his ignorance, that’s what he is!
