Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela, 1918 – 2013

Yesterday I was on a plane coming back from D.C. When I landed I turned on my phone only to discover that my beloved Madiba, Nelson Mandela, had passed away. My close fried The Mane Source, said she immediately thought of me, because she knew how much I wanted to interview him. Nelson Mandela is known as the first Black president in South Africa, but I like to remember him as a revolutionary who spent 27 innocent  years in prison fighting for a free society and democracy. Nelson Mandela inspired people all around the globe. I actually feel content that he lived to be 95 years old. That’s powerful. Madiba’s legacy will live on.
