Some say you shouldn’t share your political or religious views on your blog, because it may scare brands away. However, I’ve never been able to master that discipline, even when I really tried. Eventually, I became intentional about aligning my faith into my brand, hence the tagline “Pop Culture, Faith, Lifestyle”.
Well, a few weeks ago I was contacted by the good folks at AT&T. They informed me about their Inspired Mobility campaign – a national conversation about the cultural shift in how people use mobile & internet technology to enhance their faith experience.
They’ve seen the blog and want me to be their guest correspondent at this year’s Blogging While Brown conference in Austin, TX. Ummm, let me think about it for a moment… YES!
Totally random fact, but not really: A few months ago I took one of those “quizzes” on Facebook to find out which U.S. city I should be living in, and the the answer was Austin. Ever since then I’ve been dying to visit Austin, to see if the Facebook gods were actually right.
Also, I’ve never been to BWB before, but I’ve heard great things! I’m especially stoked glean to from Lamar & Ronnie Tyler from Black & Married with Kids, Arsha Jones, Jacque Reid, and Danyelle Little of The Cubicle Chick. I’m also excited to connect with old and new blogging buddies. Us #BLM girls are already planning a mini meetup
Be sure you’re following me on Twitter, Instagram, and Periscope to keep up with my BWB adventures. Also, I’ll be utilizing the #NikkiInAustin hashtag to document my “touristy” expenditures and #InspiredMobility hashtag during the conversation.
I’m coming. Be good to me <3
Will you be at Blogging While Brown? Be sure to say hi!
