In my attempts to defend my fellow Chicagoan a.k.a cousin in my head, Kanye has completely lost me with his most recent statement of foolery. Yeezy said the following on Ryan Seacrest the other morning:
There’s no way Kim Kardashian shouldn’t be on the cover of Vogue. She’s like the most intriguing woman right now. She’s got Barbara Walters calling her like everyday. And collectively, we’re the most influential with clothing. No one is looking at what [President Barack Obama] is wearing. Michelle Obama cannot Instagram a pic like what my girl Instagrammed the other day.
Is Kanye serious? I’m ashamed to acknowledge that we live in a society where sex has more influence than education. Sad to say, but to Kanye’s defense there are a great deal of women in the world who are being highly influenced by Kim Kardashian, than our beloved First Lady. However, I think it’s pitiful that Kanye justified Kim’s worthy “influence” due to the thirsty picture of her behind she posted on Instagram a few weeks ago (pictured above). Now, let’s state actual facts that MATTER boo boo:
Michelle Obama isn’t successful from making a sex tape. Nope, she’s way to classy for that. Hailing from a middle class family on the South Side of Chicago, Michelle used her brains, and worked hard for her success. Our First Lady attended Princeton University and graduated cum laude. She went on to earn a law degree from Harvard Law School. Michelle Obama went on to become a lawyer, Chicago city administrator, and community outreach worker. She was well accomplished BEFORE she met her man, who was simply Barry at the time. Michelle’s body, which is beautiful, was never the sole being for her success. Instead, Michelle has gracefully displayed her intelligence, heart of charity, and true example of a woman about her family and business.
It’s actually shocking to hear Kanye talk like this, since his mom Donna West was an educated woman who served as the chairman of Chicago State’s University English department.
Kanye, I know you in love, and I’m a let you finish, but Michelle Obama will always be the greatest influence of all time. Please never compare Kim K to her ever again. Boop.
