Inhale. Exhale. Repeat. Okay, now that it’s been a week since I returned home from Blogging While Brown, I think I’m back on track. So much has been happening. SO much, chile. However, I’d be a fool not to share all the goodness that went down at Blogging While Brown in Austin last week. It goes a little something like this…
“Mam, we’re giving you a complimentary upgrade to a riverside room.” This is what I was told upon checking into the Hyatt Thursday night, and since it was dark and I went straight to bed, I couldn’t fully appreciate my upgrade until I woke up. Yes, I woke up to all of Austin. Hello there
Because I have a vintage soul, I still use a good ole pen & pad. However, I decided to only take notes on my iPad this time. These were my bare necessities: iPad, smart phone, Planner/Calendar, and card holder (Purchased at the Hyde Park Art Fest). Simple, yet effective. P.S. Like my avatar courtesy of Bitstrips?
Founder of Blogging While Brown, Gina McCauley, opened the conference by sharing her personal blogging journey, which is SUPER inspirational.
Candace Queen of Harris Hall Brand Initiative gave a presentation on Cultivating a Strong Visual Identity, which was super informative, and one of my favorites.
“A national conversationa national conversation about the cultural shift in how people use mobile and Internet technology to enhance their faith experience.”
I only ate half of a red velvet cupcake… #Progress
Dinner with the #InspiredMobility team
I didn’t take any pics of the speakers on Day 2. Why? I was too busy GETTING MY ENTIRE LIFE!
I’ve been writing for Black & Married With Kids for over a year now. I was well aware of how brilliant Lamar & Ronnie Tyler are, but they took things to another level at BWB. I periscoped a bit of their Million Dollar Blog presentation, and people were legit taking notes. They even had a heart war for me (via Periscope), and kept thanking me for sharing.
Danyelle Little of The Cubicle Chick dropped plenty of nuggets as well. By the way, it was our first time meeting in person, and she’s the same person she is online: warm, friendly, and SUPER cute.
And I have to mention how much I appreciated the transparency and straight-to-the-point humor of Jacque Reid.
‘Twas a great conference. I seriously suffered from information overload, but have been slowly implementing everything I learned. Until next time.
Also, a HUGE thank you to my sponsor AT&T. To learn more about the inspired mobility campaign click here. #InspiredMobility
