3 Tips on How to Prepare for a Successful 2015

by Monday, December 15, 2014

So yesterday it dawned on me that I hadn’t touched my blog ALL weekend. This isn’t a shocker to me. I usually post less as it draws closer to the end of the year. Previous years have taught me to use this time to thankfully reflect on what I’ve accomplished, and make sure I have a clear mind as I set new goals for the new year.

Last week I wrote about not being okay. You can find that post here. My circumstances haven’t completely changed, but I am slowly… changing. As I prepare for 2015, I’m making sure to include the following:

  1. Pray: Us humans tend to make prayer extremely difficult. The more I come into the realization that I am a child of God, the more I realize prayer is simply talking to my Father. And guess what? My Father isn’t trying to confuse me. If I’m going to make major plans for my life, it totally make sense to consult the very one who gave me life right? Right. :)
  2. Plan. I write EVERYTHING down. Goals I want to reach. Places I want to go. The amount of weight I want to lose :) I write it all down. I believe a dream is simply a dream, until you write it down. That’s when it becomes a goal. I like to plan out short term goals and long term goals. However, as I get older, I’m learning the following: Many plan’s are in a man’s heart, but the Lord’s purpose will prevail. (Proverbs 19:21) As you plan for 2015, keep in mind that YOUR plans for your life, may not be GOD’s plans. And although that’s a hard pill to swallow, it will be okay. His plans are always better.
  3. Prepare. The late Dr. Myles Munroe said “Preparation is the highest act of faith.” Do we really need to discuss why it’s IMPERATIVE for us to have faith again? If so, check out this post: 3 Reasons Why You Absolutely Need to Have Faith. So you want to start a business? It’s not going to happen overnight darling. Are you preparing? Trying to lose weight? Does your refrigerator reflect that? You get the point :)

In the meantime, I leave you with this:

And it’s okay. It’s okay. Gosh, it’s okay. As I stated earlier. God’s plans are higher and better. I’m trusting him.

How are you planning for 2015?

I’m continuing what I started this year – reading multiple devotionals each day instead of just one. I have noted so many times this year that the multiple readings usually yielded confirmation of verses or a particular theme. Moreover, one devotional would have a specific Word that I needed as reassurance that the Lord had not forgotten me.

I’m doing the same thing..pray, plan, prepare. I’ve been writing stuff down more than I’ve done in previous years. Literally…writing the vision and making it plain. Wishing you God’s BEST for 2015 Nikki.

Told ya I was stalking your blog, lolol! I’ve read so many tips about welcoming a new year. This was refresh ingredients because you reminded believers to set our expectations up according to the Word of Faith. I’m expecting God to act this year regarding some things I’ve written down and dream about.
